Kendra Kestner (b. 1984) has been commissioned by Jackson Trombonefest, and has collaborated with choreographers and dancers of the Jackson Ballet Company to create music for dance. Her music has been performed by the Helton-Thomas Duo, AVIDduo, percussion duo to hit, saxophonist Jonathan Nichol, flutist Marissa Olin, Spring Arbor University Chamber Singers, Jackson Trombone Choir, and by various performers at the 2008 NASA Biennial Conference at the University of South Carolina.
She attended Michigan State University (D.M.A.), Central Michigan University (M.M.), and Spring Arbor University (B.A.) where she studied with Ricardo Lorenz, José-Luis Maúrtua, David Gillingham, and Jonathan Bruce Brown. At CMU, she studied organ with Steven Egler, and was recipient of the Diversity Fellowship two consecutive years. Kendra taught aural harmony and electronic music at Spring Arbor University, and currently teaches music privately in Nogales, Arizona. She can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org
